I am so grateful that God has placed us in such an amazing spiritual family! Just in the past few days I have been ministered to by words of our friends that I have brought a new degree of peacefulness in my heart!
Sunday evening my sweet friend Jenny, whose struggles in child bearing have far exceeded my two little miscarriages, gave me an inspirational Word. I want to share it because it gave me so much peace and is applicable so many different areas of our lives. These are not Jenny's exact words, but my interpretation.... Just take a minute and picture God, looking over the world, but not only the world today, rather over all time and space. See that He knows the plan set before you that you do not know. He knows the people's paths whom yours needs to cross, He knows where you need to be when. He knows the particular time and place for your children to be picked and placed. Fore, He knows their greater plan, the people's paths they will need to cross and the places they will need to be at a perfect time to fulfill His plan. Oh how great it is to surrender to His plan and relinquish mine. The burden I felt lifting was one well worth letting go of! I felt as if I needed to hang on to my plan for child bearing, because well, I have a plan and need to work my plan. I praise God for using this significant desire of my heart to teach me to surrender to Him!
The scripture Jenny gave me was Ephesians 4:1 "As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received." Live a life WORTHY of the calling YOU have received. To think about the great calling He has on my life (and my children's lives) is humbling. Sometimes I have been a little spoiled child pitching a fit because I haven't had my turn. How pleased are a child's parents when they act that way? Not well pleased! He says, "I want you to trust me, for you know not the plan I have set before you." Lord, let my life be worthy of what you have called me to, let me have a heart of obedience to you and trust in you so that your light might shine through me.
I stumbled on another scripture today in reading the blog of a great couple which spoke to me profoundly. Proverbs 19:21 "Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails." Oh yes, many are the plans in my heart, but they pale in comparison to His purpose!
Hi Heather...I love reading your stories...miss ya!
